Participating Towns & Villages

Long Island’s towns and villages are a critical part of the Half Shells for Habitat partnership.  They provide facilities for shell storage and curing (pursuant to NYSDEC regulations the collected oyster shells must be cured in the sun for at least six warm months before they can be returned to the water) and other necessary support for the program.
